“Knowing in part may make a fine tale, but wisdom comes from seeing the whole."

That was the message that Sandra Mitchell presented as she spoke at a recent meeting of the Sunday Supper Club, a group of residents interested in “progressive politics" in Fauquier County and the surrounding area.

The m,ain topic was the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. Stories in the media and on the Internet are full of the various proposals and opinions regarding the act's reauthorization scheduled for a vote by the end of the year. Like Goldilocks assessing porridge in the nursery story of “The Three Bears," some likp the law aA it stands; some think it's a good start, but needs changes; others don't like it at all.
