Sept 10: Train to be
a Hospice volunteer
Hospice of the Rapidan periodically offers free training for people interested in becoming volunteers and has scheduled its next training program beginning Monday, September 10. This is a comprehensive progam for people interested in volunteering with patients and their caregivers, and consists of a total of 21 hours, in seven 3 hour ses- * sions. Those interested in volunteering with events, community outreach and in the office require less extensive training. Training will take place at the Orange County Nursing Home; 120 Dogwood Lane, Orange from 1:00~4:00 p.m. Mondays and Wednesday’s beginning Monday, September 10 and ending on Monday, October 3. There will be no class on Wednesday September 19. No prior experience is required and the program is free of charge. Hospice of the Rapidan has volunteer opportunities with patient families in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock Counties and at its office in Culpeper. There is a particular need for volunteers in Orange County Interested people should contact Ruth Pavlik, Volunteer Coordinator, at 540-825-4840 to sign up, and must complete an application process prior to the beginning of class.
Sept 10: Baflet at Bele Meade
Ballet classes will be offered at Bele Meade Schodhouse again this year! The program is entering its fourth year and new and returning students are invited to participate. The classes are offered by Meghan Cupp, a former professional classical ballet dancer with 16 years experience teaching ballet to all ages.
