Classes at Rappahannock County public schools began Aug. 27. There is a preliminary count of 917 students with more expected by the day after Labor Day. Most varsity athletic teams have participated in scrimmages. In the only regular season action to date, the varsity volleyball team opened the season with victories over two Group AA teams: Warren County and Millbrook high schools.
