It was a soggy day with powerful thunderstorms and even a bit of hail, but the weather did not dampen spirits at the Hollow Honey Hootenanny on Saturday at the Smokehouse Winery near Sperryville.
Five bands - including Larry Keel and Natural Bridge, Corn Tornado, The Merkles, Lisa Kay Band with Brooksie Wells and Furnace Mountain - played bluegrass for concertgoers of all ages. A persistent rainstorm that started around sunset forced three of the bands to play inside Smokehouse owner John Hallberg’s house.
