Several changes have been made in the program for the Point-to-Point Seminar sponsored by the Virginia Point-to-Point Council scheduled for Friday at 8 pm. at the Middleburg Community Center.
Seminar moderator Peter Winants says that in addition to conducting the program through a question and answer format, each speaker will also spend about five minutes discussing a particular topic.
Dr. Rufus Humphrey will begin the seminar by offering his opinions on the obligation of the racing committee to put the race courses in a safe and sound condition to prevent injuries, and the obligation of trainers and owners to get their horses "racing fit."
National Steeplechase and Hunt Association steward Erskine Bedford will explain what happens in the paddock, the mechanics involved when a rider "weighs out” and what is expected of the rider.
