three more opportunities to take that test again before graduation. If one test was passed and the other failed, only the one failed must be taken again. Students who do not pass botlj tests prior to graduation cannot receive a high school diploma.

The next testing date is scheduled for April, 1979. In the interim, RCHS students who failed either or both tests will receive instruction after school to strengthen areas of weakness.

Statewide, the median score was1'86 per cent on reading and 88 per cent on mathematics. Approximately two per cent of Virginia's tenth graders answered all the reading items correctly and 2.4 per cent made a perfect score on math. At the other end of the scale, two per cent answered fewer than 28 of the 60 reading items correctly and 2.4 per cent answered fewer than 51 math questions correctly.
