world vainly scanning the Virginia state map, looking for Viewtown. In each instance the result is the same. A phone call, to visit, a message or a telegram of urgency all in exasperated impatience say, “Where is Viewtown? I’ve looked on three different maps. What the — does the other guy do when you leave town?”
All this is going to be changed.
That is, with the cooperation of all interested persons who will sign a petition requesting identification of Viewtown and the road No. 642 on the 1979 Virginia Highway Department map. The petition to be available at the Viewtown post office at T. C. Barron’s Store. Or if so desired drop a card or letter to the Amissville Ruritan Club, c-o H. R. Terhune, Viewtown, Virignia 22746.
Eagles Counted
Approximately 49 bald and golden eagles have been spotted along the Rappahannock, James and York Rivers, according to William and Mary professor Mitchell Byrd. Byrd is state coordinator for a project to count the number of bald and golden eagles in America. Last month thousands of federal and state wildlife officials and volunteer bird watchers scanned the skies in this first nationwide count attempt.
