Credit Update
The possibility of making wood stoves eligible for tax credits is being evaluated by the U.S. Department of Energy, according to the January aditkm of Virginia Energy Report.
The U.S. Department of Energy (USDOE) has contracted with Booz-Allen and Mailton, Inc. to examine energy and economic savings, potential energy savings to the nation, pollution and safety factors, and the cost and availability of wood. USDOE recommendations to the Treasury Secretary on the advisability of allowing tax credits for wood stoves will be based on the study.
