Brower is a teacher of oral intrepretation of literature and a specialist in the works of Mr. Frost. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 1945 and earned a MA degree at Teachers College. Columbia University. He was an officer in the U. S. Navy during World War II.

Basketball
The Rappahannock Athletic Association and county teachers have combined forces to present a benefit basketball doubleheader on Saturday, February 24, at the high school auditorium.
At 6:30 p.m., RAA women will face the faculty ladies in a contest that promises to go right down to the final buzzer. RAA men will match their skill with a round ball against the faculty gents immediately following the ladies’ game.
Admission will be charged and proceeds will go towards completing the track at RCHS.

Washington attorney David Konick, specialist in estate planning and tax matters, will present a VPI sponsored program on income taxes and systems for keeping financial records beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the courthouse on Thursday, February 22.
