In a $2.5 million suit filed June 27 in U.S. District Court in Charlottesville. Myrtle Corbin of Flint Hill charges Rappahannock Sheriff W. A. Buntin and Corrections Officer John A. Mannion with “callous indifference” that resulted in the death of her son. Bobby Lee Corbin. Corbin, age 31, died on December 26, 1978, of injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.

Chester Gap firemen opened their annual carnival last night at their grounds on the mountain and it will continue through Saturday. Activities include all of the usual exciting rides, games, contests and abundance of good home cooked food.
All of the carnival rides are 25 cents each and are operated by the local people. The usual carnival fare.
