The Virginia Department of Welfare announced today that the United States Department of Agriculture has made major changes in the Food Stamp Program affecting deductions, net income and coupon allotments.
These changes, effective on July 1, 1979, are:
1) the standard deduction for all households will be increased from $65.00 to $70.00.
2) The maximum for the combined shelter-dependent care deduction will be raised from $80.00 to $90.00.
3) The maximum allowable net income to be eligible will be raised. For example, the allowable net income for a one person household will be raised from $277.00 to $306.00; for a four person
Brown Reunion
The Maury W. Brown family held their annual reunion at Pelican Parle beach resort in Nags Head, N.C. where they vacationed for 8 days.
Accompanying Mrs. Brown at the beach were her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Maury W. Brown, Jr., Bridgeport, Texas, their daughter, Mrs. Dale Blankinship and Mr. Blankinship of Fort Worth, Texas and great granddaughter, Miss Amy Loraine Brown of Salt Lake City, Utah. Also attending were Mrs. Brown’s son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. H. Allen Brown and daughters, Tracy and Lisa of Mustang, Oklahoma; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Kelly of Winston-Salem, N.C. Traveling from Ohio were her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Brown and daughters, Jennifer and Kate and son,' Matthew of Oxford, their daughter, Jill of Akron with daughter, Kelly and friend Nick Conrad. Also Mr. and Mrs. Donald Williams of Ashland, Mrs. Jean J. Konek, daughter Robin Jones and son, John Konek and Mrs. Phyllis Shirey all of Richmond.
