The amount appropriated can be used for either two buses or one bus and a van for transporting handicapped students, Mrs. Massie noted.“If we get the handicapped vehicle, my understanding is that our vehicle policy would require getting rid of one other car in the fleet. Is that your opinion?” she asked Bloomer.
(Last year, the board voted to limit the number of vehicles in the school fleet to eight. Currently, it consists of ' five cars, a van, one pick-up truck and a dump truck.)
“I would not think so but the board is at liberty to ‘ include that if they so desire,” the Superintendent answered.
After a short executive session on personnel, the School Board returned to open meeting and announced the appointment of two new teachers. Margaret Dove Lee from Flint Hill, a graduate of the University of Texas with two year’s experience, will teach fifth grade. Susan Nance Cobb, Radford graduate with seven year’s teaching experience in Warren County schools, will teach high school English.
