With a direct mail solicitation of its more than 10,000 members last week, Northern Piedmont Electric Cooperative issued an appeal for them to vote on a consolidation of operations with Virginia Electric Cooperative, Bowling Green. Citing direct cost savings of more than 10 million dollars over the next 10 years, Edwin A. Kann, General Manager of N.P. stated, “We are offering our membership an exceptional opportunity to have a direct impact on the rising costs of their electrical service. This consolidation will mean more in actual dollar savings than any other action we could possibly take for our con. sumers.” ____
