Christmas list, Jean Lillard's Rappahannock Tack Shop is a “must” stop. She has tack, horse books, riding apparel and leather goods plus lots of little horsey items for stocking stuffers.
For tenni$ nuts, the tack shop has rackets, balls, warm-up suits, shirts, suits—everything necessary for a court date.
The shop is located in Jean’s house on Route 647 just outside of Flint Hill—the only house on the block with a tack shop sign in the yard. She operates the business part-time, devoting most of her hours to real estate sales. The shop will be open every Friday and Saturday through Christmas from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Shoppers who can’t make it by during the regular time need only call for an appointment. “With real estate, I can be flexible enough to accommodate my horse and tennis customers,” said Jean.

Lucky D Saddlery and Ye Ole General Store on Route 211 west of Amissville is the equivalent of a department store for the horsey set, carrying gifts for the horse lover as well as the horse.
To keep the family equine contented and warm, the store carries a complete line of health care products, blankets, saddle pads, English and western tack, lead lines, curry combs, hoof picks and the like.
