On Thursday, the Rappahannock Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) gave unqualified approval to quadrupling the voltage in Potomac Edison’s power line across Rappahannock from 34.5 KV (thousand volts}, to 138 KV, providing the company rebuilds its line on existing right-of-way. The improvements will double the utility's capacity to provide power to the county.
