COUNTY schools were

having a week of spring

vacation, the first for several years, through the courtesy of Mother Nature who had provided a relatively open winter.

John Franklin Huff of Washington was the first fatal victim of a traffic collision in Rappahannock in 1965 and Carroll Cornelius Frye of Sperryville was killed in a crash in Culpeper in which Eugene Benton Atkins also of Sperryville was seriously injured.

Cheryl Poling had an Easter Egg tree in the front yard of her home at Amissville and participants in an art show at the county library included Robert Cordani, Larry Hackley, Skippy Giles, Marlene Cordani and Nancy Bun tin.

Rev. Charles Glaenzer had purchased a Dodge motor home from Russell Brothers in Flint Hill. The motor home was named the Rambling Rectory by the Glaenzers.
