Girls Topple
Records
After several cancellations due to rain, the girls junior varsity track team finally got to their first meet last Thursday at Stonewall Jackson for a three-school contest with Central.
The Lady Panthers lost but placed well individually. Two school records fell. The first was toppled by Melissa Turner who threw the shot put 31’6”.
The second record of the dav went down to Patricia Scott’s smooth run in the 880. She finished in 2:52, lowering the old school mark by two seconds.
In the long jump, Patricia Knight came in first, Donna Knight third and Lynn Jones fourth. Marie Davis won the discus throw for Rappahannock’s JV girls.
Annie Tupper came in second in the 100 yard dash, trailing the winner by only a fraction of a second. In the 440, Joan Facchina placed third.
Tupper ended the day for Rappahannock on a high note, crossing the line first in the 220 yard dash.
Final scores were Stonewall 64, Central 46 and Rappahannock 34.

Kenneth A. Norman ol Woodville has been named tc the Dean’s List at Northern Virginia Community College, Manassas for the winter quarter.
Kenneth is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel M. Norman of Woodville.
