When there were no further comments from the audience, Newbill Miller proposed advertising the draft plan with the comments made at the six community meetings and then formalizing the document after the planners’ public hearing.
Remarks made at other sessions included:
—Flint Hill—(1) Change in wording proposed by Phil Irwin for goals on employment-economic development to make it clear that the plan doesn’t suggest a commissioned be founded to recruit industrial development. (2) A second change in wording on. goals in the section on natural resources to clear up any possible confusion on private property rights, also proposed by Irwin (3) Suggestions from Charles Manson to describe fire and rescue coverage as marginal rather than excellent and the addition of fire and rescue to the county's capital improvement planning process.
— Sperryville—General objection that the residential development goal on controlling the development and location of recreational home, second home, or retirement home activities discourages senior citizens from locating in the county.
— Woodville—(1) Suggestion from Howard Holschuh that the planning commission clarify the role of senior citizens (2) Proposal from Helen Holschuh that recreation and park facilities, specifically the acquisition of preperty on Red Oak Mountain and the use of Scenic Rivers legislation, have a greater role in the plan.
