Rally In May
The Sixth Annual Mount Rogers Naturalist Rally will be held at the Konnarock Spike Camp on the Jefferson National Forest on May 9 and 10, 1980. The area, Mount Rogers, Pine Mountain and Whitetop Mountain, form Virginia’s highest land masses and is extremely popular with naturalists.
This year’s program will feature a horseback nature trip as well as field trips to look at mammals, medicinal plants of Appalachia, plant ecology, beaver study, nature photography, fisheries as well as mosses, mushrooms and wildflowers.
Everyone is invited to the Rally whether an experience student naturalist or novice. Information and reservations may be obtained by writing R. Jefferson Cocker, Box 912, Marion, Va. 24354.
