Luke answered that the Martin-Clifford study advocated a strip development plan with sewer lines following major roads. In area hearings on the plan, no one from Rappahannock spoke in favor of its proposed county-wide sewer system, according to Luke.
Implementation would be difficult today, Luke said, noting that at one time, sewer systems were funded with 90 per cent state and federal money. “Now, the state’s not putting up its share,” said Luke, “and we’re back to 75 per cent federal and 25 per cent local.”

Crusade
In cooperation with the area wide Follow Christ Crusade the Forest Grove Baptist Church, Viewtown will be holding revival services April 27-May 1, each evening at 8 p.m.
The Rev. Bobby Rooper, pastor of the Woodville Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker. Mrs. Gary F. Bailey, pianist and organist, is planning special music each evening.
The public is invited to attend these services.
