Reprimands for cursing from chairman Beverly Massie and Robert Eastham's angry rebuttal, blaming his language on the example set by television, marked Monday’s school board session as the members adopted three of five new budgetary procedures proposed by the Wakefield District representative.
At the July meeting, Eastham offered his five-part resolution and followed it up 9 with letters of explanation mailed to the other members. On Monday night, the board took up his suggestions one at a time.
Eastham proposed that all federal funds, specifically Title I money, appear on both the revenue and expenditure sides of the budget sent to the supervisors. Currently, the regular school budget and the Title 1 budget are prepared separately.
