In order to avoid a repeat of the S10.000 deficit in last year’s school lunch program, the Rappahannock school board voted at Monday’s meeting to up the price of meals for the coming term with the proviso that the cost can be increased further if it appears the program will operate at a loss.
At the elementary school, the price of a lunch will go from 45 cents to 55 cents, at the high school from 50 cents to 65 cents. Adult lunches will increase in price from 65 cents to 90 cents and extra milk from five cents to ten cents.
