The first Rappahannock Open Cross Country Run was held on Friday, August 8th at Blue Rock Farm. More than twenty competitors braved ninety degree weather while covering the 2.7 mile course.
Vincent Day completed the course first with a time of 17:52 and Irene Spieker was the first female to cross the finish line in 19:20.
Mike McKierman, who led during most of the race, finished second in 17:55 while Frank Reynolds was third with 17:59.
Marc Wiley, the youngest competitor, finished seventeenth with a time of 29:54. The oldest runners were Mitchel and Sue Karp who finished 12th and 16 respectively.
Final Results:
In the 12 and Under age group, Marc Wiley placed first.
In the 13-15 Age Group,. Ricky Shaw placed first with a time of 23:12 and placed
