Crimes against persons, however, have the higher clearance rate—92.3 percent for murder-non-negligible manslaughter, 66.4 percent of forcible rape and 77.7 percent for aggravated assault. By comparison, the statewide clearance rate for crimes against property are much lower—18.6 percent for larceny, 22.3 percent for burglary, 30.9 percent for robbery and 29.2 percent for motor vehicle theft.
