Although carnivorous animals infected with rabies may randomly bite other animals without provocation, health department officials are aware of no exposure from the skunk. The skunk was shot in a farm yard after it had chased a young dog.
Warrenton veterinarians participated in special rabies immunization clinics June 18 and 19. At these mass immunization clinics 272 cats and 254 dogs were inoculated.
