Barbaric
To the Editor:
From occasional news items it seems only reasonable to suppose that Rappahannock has its own residue of the barbaric hidden within the recesses of the county and not only among the less privileged.
But by and large the county seems to have done a good job, at some material cost to itself, of resisting the invasion of modern barbarism.
So that I was very much dismayed to read among last week’s Letters to the Editor one from Diana W. Bird advocating abortion.
Of all the crimes against humanity, the attempted legitimization of which is at present so disastrously unraveling the social fabric, abortion would seem to just about top the list as the most heinous.
