The Rappahannock NAACP Branch banquet will be held Saturday. June 19. 9 at 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church dining hall in Washington. Lions Club Plans Auction
The Rappahannock Lions Club's annual auction will be held Friday, June 25, at Jenkins Auction House in Washington, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The Lions are looking for donations of serviceable, saleable items to auction off at the annual fund raising event. The money raised through the auction, the annual apple butter sale and other events finances the club’s work in Rappahannock County. The Lions give monetary support to the Rappahannock Athletic Association's summer youth baseball program, the annual seventh grade trip to Williamsburg and Sursum Corda School and Day Care Cedar, The. Lions also - - provide a Youth Exchange scholarship for a local young person, fund the elementary school’s aquarium, sponsor prizes for the annual mental health poster contest and furnish assistance to needy families who require medical attention for eye problems.
