In an addendum to Eastham’s motion. Nelson Lane proposed that the superintendent survey all the school divisions in Virginia to determine how many have sick leave banks.
“I don’t think the implication that there are only three sick leave banks in the state is a fair one,” responded Estabrook. As for Lane’s proposal for a statewide survey, the superintendent pointed out that the central office staff doesn't include researchers. “There are reasonable limits on how far you can beat an animal to death!”
Eastham replied that he wouldn’t accept Lane’s addendum to his motion.
