Overload permits will be available July 1, for Virginia and out-of-state truckers that will allow a maximum five percent overload per axle, or a maximum five percent overload based on the gross weight of a vehicle or combination of vehicles.
No vehicles will be authorized to exceed the maximum gross weight of 80.000 lbs. Overload permits may be requested from any DMV or State Corporation Commission offices when vehicles are registered each year.
