Freeman Allen knows how to get reporters motivated. He was one himself once: a former foreign correspondant and capitol hill reporter. Now. as the new journalism teacher at Wakefield School, he is the mentor to Wakefield’s current crop of student reporters. In this capacity he does not assign chapters in textbooks nor does he correct worksheets. He does assign news stories and he does help revise and edit those stories. He also gives grades.
