Front page news on November 22, 1962 was the establishment of the Rappahannock County Library. The Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors had alloted $1,000 to the library on November 7. Mrs. B.M. Miller, a Trustee for the library, was at the meeting and told of the progress being made on the building. She stated that the roof had been repaired, floors repaired and sanded, the interior painted, window panes replaced and the grounds cleaned up. The library, an old church, had been purchased in the spring of 1960 with local contributions and foundation grants. All work to date had been financed by donations.
