At least two subsamples or cores should be collected per acre. These subsamples should then be thoroughly mixed in a clean paper bag before filling the soil sample box that will be sent to the lab. Cultivated fields should be sampled to plow depth. Pasture and semi-permanent hay fields should be sampled to the 2-4” depth.
