The fun and games of the social page are matched by the typically wacky “Funny Papers", coordinated by Val Paluch. A spoof of school news, “Funny Papers,” is the beneficiary of many students’ talents and one of the most popular items in the paper.
For the upcoming issue. The Hoot is covering more controversial ground by doing a feature story on migrant worker camps in North Carolina. Such ambition is admirable and perhaps even a bit dangerous. Unless the story is handled with professional care and discretion, it could generate some friction. Other unusual features of the upcoming issue include a profile on punk, a worldwide musical and social movement.
