Lindsay Eastham had celebrated his 9th birthday Sunday at the Ben Venue home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.L. Eastham. His guests included Richard Burke, Mark Eastham, Carlton Harper, Michael Williams, Tom Hardy Eastham and Douglas Nichols.
At local theatres were Treasure Island, Brother of the Wind, The Pigkeepers Daughter and Southern Comforts.

COUNCIL members for
the town of Washington
deliberated for three hours over proposed changes in town light fixtures. The council decided to replace the 1000L fixtures with 2500L along U.S. Route 211 and at each street corner and entrance to the town.
At F.L. White and Co. in Culpeper, slacks were on sale for $7.95. The sale included some pleated slacks with regular bottoms and some plain fronts with ivy league bottoms.
