James Silvey
World War II Veteran
James Norman Silvey, 55, of Amissville, died on Friday, December 3, 1982, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Martinsburg, W. Va. A native of Amissville, he was the son of the late John Wesley and Irene Hitt Silvey. He was a carpenter and a veteran of World War II. He is survived by a son, Larry James Silvey of Amissville; one daughter, Teresa Gail Jenkins of Rapidan; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Alther of Washington, D. C. and three brothers. Jack Silvey of Wheaton, Md., Paul Silvey of Alexandria and John Wesley Silvey Jr. of Amissville. Funeral services were held on Monday at the GeestJohnson Funeral Home in Culpeper by the Rev. Paul Markee. Burial was at Culpeper National Cemetery.
William Hawkins
Retired Shoe Store Owner
William Bryant Hawkins, 66, of Warrenton, died Friday, December 3, 1982, at Fauquier Hospital, Warrenton.
A native of Rappahannock County, he was the son of the late George R. and Eva Burke Hawkins. He was a retired shoe store owner.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Gauthier Hawkins of Warrenton; a son, Richard Bryant Hawkins, also of Warrenton; one brother. Clifton Hawkins of Manassas and three sisters, Mrs. Lewis Hitt of Burlington. N. C., Mrs. Carl Cox of Fredericksburg and Mrs. Charles Burke of Culpeper.
Graveside services were conducted on Sunday at Warrenton Cemetery by the Rev. Sam Jones.
