Pageant had the audience in the high school gym whistling and stomping last Friday night. It was “oh la la” as Eugene “Geraldine” Grigsby (left) and Clarence “Latania" Pendleton (right) vamped across the stage. The Sisters Sludge—Bella Donna. Big Bertha and Lola — presented their version of “We Are Family” complete with pauses to sneak a peek at the versus penciled on the palms of their hands. The first place trophy went to mountain musicians Mike Leake, Ken Estes and Chuck Stephenson, second to Jimmy "Shemena” Freeman and third to the Sisters Sludge (also known as Joe, Jon and Jim. the brothers McCullough).
