Susie Hitt

Mrs. Susie Ann Hitt, 90, of Amissville died on Saturday, January 15, 1983, at her residence.

A native of Rappahannock County, she was the daughter of the late Albert H. and Lucy Ann Hitt. She was the widow of Eddie Jacob Hitt. Mrs. Hitt was a member of the Amissville United Methodist Church and was very active in the United Methodist Women’s Society until her recent illness. She was predeceased by a daughter, Mrs. Josephine Campbell.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Virgie Burke of Vienna, Mrs. Lucille Payne of Marshall, Mrs. Ruth Fishback of Warrenton and Mrs. Dorothy Weibel of Manassas; one son, Eddie R. Hitt of Amissville; 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the Amissville United Methodist Church by the Rev. Steve Parker. Burial was in the Hitt family graveyard near the residence.
