Easthani argued that it would be necessary to keep the pressure on the builder in order to insure that the completion date was not delayed. After some discussion, the board agreed that the projected date of July 1 gave ample leeway to the board in case of delay.
Index Salary Scale
The board turned to its scheduled vote on the index salary scale proposed by the administration in conjunction with the Rappahannock County Education Association. At its last meeting, the vote had ended in a tie, with Massie and Nancy Reeve voting for the scale and Eastham and Lane voting against it.
Randall Updike, Hampton District board member, had not been present at the regular January meeting. In case of tie, a vote must go before the full board at its next meeting.
