We’re happy to report that the newspaper collection site at the Washington Fire Department is trashfree and that the piles of newspapers have been moved into the large trailer for recycling. Patrons of the site can now put their papers directly into the trailer, thanks to the efforts of Bill Young, who found some steps that just fit.

Washington Fire Chief Roger Roach siaid that the department plans to also construct an area for collecting aluminum, so start saving your aluminum products, too, to help this worthy organization.

Not a lot of people showed up Saturday, but there were enough to make quick work of what seemed like a monumental task. We hope that people served by the Washington Fire Department will take an interest in this
