Scouts Host Flea Market
Boy Scout Troop 1 of Winchester will hold its 13th Annual Flea Market on Saturday, March 26, 8-5 at the Winchester National Guard Armory.
A wide assortment of crafts, antiques, memorabilia, relics, primitives and books will be offered for sale in more than 40 booths. Food will also be available. The small admission fee will benefit the troop’s High Adventure program.
Barter Brings Mousetrap
The Barter Theatre Players of Abingdon will present their touring version of Agatha Christie’s “The Mousetrap” at Culpeper High School auditorium on Saturday, April 2.
The original production of this tale or murder in a secluded old manor house is currently in its 30th year on the London stage, making it the longest running play in theatrical history.
Coincidentally, Barter Theatre, now in its 50th year, is the oldest, longest running professional theater in the country. Barter was formed during the Great Depression with the idea that farmers would trade or “barter” food to see live drama, thereby feeding hungry actors.
Tickets for the Culpeper performance are available by mail at $5 from the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce, 133 W. Davis St., Culpeper, Va. 22701.
