and federal funds is expected to be available for allocation to interstate, primary and urban highway and street projects—more than $100 million above the level which would have been provided if the General Assembly and the U.S. Congress had not approved increased highway funding last year. The additional revenue will enable Virginia to proceed with construction or planning for scores of projects which otherwise would have been deferred or abandoned, King said.
