“Tiere are things we need to get on as far as the bloat grant is concerned,” Gore added. He noted that the/ supervisors, at their May 2 meeting, must (1) adopt a resolution giving notice of their intent to file for a grant and (2) reaffirm Capelle as project manager.
In addition, he said, another public hearing on the block grant application must be scheduled for either late May or early June, the notice and the date to come from the project engineers.
Gore reported that block grant applications will be available near the end of April and must be submitted to Richmond by July 1 with” award announcement to come around September 1.
“How could we have known something was missing last time?” asked WSA member Clifford Miller in reference to the lack of Health Department affirmation of the existing health hazard in Sperryville, an omission which reportedly cost Rappahannock its block grant in the first funding cycle.
