First Baptist The Deacons and Deaconesses of the First Baptist Church will hold their annual celebration on Sunday, May 1 at 3 p.m. at the church. The Rev. William Gibbs of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church at Happy Creek will be the guest speaker. He will be accompanied by his congregation. Lunch will be served in the Church’s Dining Hall directly after the regular services. All sister churches are invited to attend. All deaconesses are asked to wear white. Mt. Salem Baptist Revival services will be held at Mt. Salem Baptist Church on Rt. 626 near Washington from April 24-29 each evening at 7:30. Evangelist R.L. Ball from Concord, North Carolina will be preaching. Special singing will be held each evening. Guests on Monday will be Amissville Baptist Church, Woodville Baptist on Tuesday and Mt. Lebanon on Wednesday. Regular services at Mt. Salem include Sunday School at 10 a.m. and worship service at 11 each week. The pastor, James W. Burke and the congregation invites the public to attend.
