Older Voters Must
Order Ballot First
During the first ten days of May, older Virginians will have an opportunity to elect representatives to the state’s first Silver Haired Legislature. The model legislature, to be held in August, will make recommendations to the governor and General Assembly regarding the needs of Virginia’s older people.
In order to vote, Rappahannock residents who are 60 or older must send the ballot request form printed below to the Virginia Department for the Aging in Richmond by April 28. Each prospective voter will then receive an official mail-in ballot for Senate District 26 (Culpeper, Rappahannock, Fauquier and northern Madison counties) and House District 31 (northern Culpeper, northwestern Fauquier and all of Rappahannock).

Announced candidates for the Senate District are Truman J. Keesey of Washington and Winston M. Somerville of Winston. To date, Jane Golway is the only candidate for the 31st House District seat!
