Ida McMenzie

Mrs. Ida Ryle “Granny Mae” McMenzie, 74, of Culpeper died Tuesday, April 12, 1983, at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted at the Clore Funeral Home Chapel in Culpeper on Saturday by Doctor Arthur D. Thomas, Jr. of Mitchells. Burial was in the New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.

A native of Rappahannock County, Mrs. McMenzie was the daughter of the late Joseph Marion and Adeline Weaver Ryle. She had lived in Culpeper for many years and was a member of Mitchells Presbyterian Church and Women of the Church. Mrs. McMenzie was a former member of New Salem Baptist Church and was a health care companion.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Betty M. Marsh of Culpeper and Mrs. Pauline M. Nelson of Garden Grove, Calif., six grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren.
