Jenkins Reunion The families of the late Alfred and Catherine Gearing Jenkins will have their annual reunion on Sunday, August 14 at the Rappahannock Park near Washington. Relatives and friends are invited to come, bring a picnic lunch and meet old and new friends.
Ice Cream Social And Film At Amissville Methodist The Overcomers of the Amissville United Methodist Church will host an Ice Cream Social at the church on Sunday, August 14, at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come out and bring their favorite freezer of ice cream or other dessert and join in the fun and fellowship. A movie will follow the ice cream social at 8 p.m. The film is entitled “Mountain Lady” and is filmed in the rugged Alaskan wilderness.
Meeting And Picnic The Rappahannock Fire and Rescue Association’s monthly meeting has been rescheduled for Thursday, August 18, at 7:30 p.m. at the Sperryville Rescue Squad’s building. All members of the county’s fire and rescue companies are encouraged to attend. The Association will be tlie host at a softball game and picnic on Saturday, August 20, beginning at 4 p.m. at the county park on Route 211. Barbecued chicken and drinks will be provided. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish to contribute to the feast. The picnic is open to all members of the county’s Fire and Rescue Association.
