Hawkins suggested that the upstairs of the town hall be used for Pullen’s tools. “The fire department’s only using half. Besides, they have plenty of room of their own to store things now.”
Fisher agreed to check with the fire department volunteers on moving the rest of their materials to the fire hall.
After a lengthy discussion on hues and shades, the council members agreed on a color scheme for repainting the town hall.
Miller reported that Evelyn Willis, an interior decorator who chose the colors for Douglas Baumgardner’s new offices, suggested white for the main portion of the building, black green for the roof and shutters and cranberry red for the door. By consensus, the council agreed to stick with the black grCen and cranberry red and substitute “the lightest of gray” for the white.
Solicitation of bids for the painting project was authorized with the council reserving the right to reject any and all bids. Contractors interested in the project are to call Mayor Newbill Miller for additional information.
