Alonzo Alexander Brown, 82, of Remington, died on Tuesday, August 2, 1983, at the Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton.
A carpenter, he was a native of Amissville and the son of the late George Richard and Anna Eliza Gordon Brown. He was a member of the Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lula Mae Gibson Brown; five sons, Alonzo Brown, Jr. and Henry L. Brown, both of Remington; Eugene Brown of Standardsville, George Brown of Alexandria and Robert Brown of Seat Pleasant, Md.; three daughters, Mrs. Esther Mae Coleman of Washington, D.C., Mi-s. Helen E. Williams of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Miss Frances Brown of Arlington; 20 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Annie Jeffries of Pittsburgh, Pa., Mrs. Beatrice Carter of Remington, Mrs. Lottie Rowe of Orlean and Mrs. Delores Jasper of Washington, D.C. and one brother, Boyd Brown of Amissville.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday at the Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper by the Rev. Howard Nussbaum. Burial was in Hollywood Cemetery at Remington.
