Wingfield is fascinated by the weather and says it’s something especially important in a rural area. Farmers never take the weather for granted as city folks sometimes do, says Wingfield, who’s the local Channel four weather watcher. He noted that the “corn has tasseled before its time” and that the “ground is kind of baked right now.” But he wasn’t ready to enthuse over Michaels forecasts for cooler, wetter weather. “Until man can learn what the jet stream does before the jet stream does it,” he said, “you never can predict 100 percent accurately.”
