The town of Washington’s proposed franchise agreement for electrical service sparked no interest at last Wednesday’s advertised public hearing, judging from the turn-out. Not a single resident appeared to speak for or against the 25year contract for providing power to the town.
Representatives from Potomac Edison, the current holder of the Washington franchise, told the council members that the utility will bid on continuing under the terms of the new contract.
With no further discussion, the council adopted the franchise agreement (printed in its entirety in a legal advertisement on page 3.)
